How to simulate potholes on the road?

Hii, I am trying to work on a project for detection of pothole and my question is . Can I simulate the pothole and their physical aspects in the unreal engine? If yes can you suggest me somethings on how to proceed with it.

Hey there @anonymous_user_f35934621! Welcome to the community! So the answer to your question is an emphatic yes! However it’s dependent on the complexity of the simulation you’re going for. While Unreal is powerful, true simulation is going to come down to how much fidelity in the simulation you’re going for, since the engine is open source you’re only limited by your imagination! There’s going to be sparse resources on the specific of say complex physical simulation due to the niche nature.

However if you’re trying to say use the chaos vehicles system (which has a decent system for something like shocks), and use that, it won’t be very sim-like with reality. There’s a vehicle pack from the matrix simulations city sample that has some damage states for vehicles, but it’s not softbody physics or anything so “true” damage would have to be custom.
