How to setup the localization document and upload this?

We can’t seem to successfully upload the excel template for localization. We tried to download and upload various excel formats from the localization tab. But we can’t seem to get it working. Could anyone help us with setting up our localization?

Hi @DrivingGames! When you upload your localization, it must be a .CSV UTF8 file. If using Excel, you’ll need to follow these steps:

  1. Open your CSV file in Excel
  2. Click File in the top-left corner
  3. Select Save as…
  4. Click the drop-down menu next to File format
  5. Select CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (.csv) from the drop-down menu
  6. Click Save

When uploading your localization, you’ll need to make sure your product is ready to be promoted to the Stage sandbox. If it’s not ready for the promotion, you won’t be able to upload your loc.

Hi!

Thanks for the response. We have been saving the file as a CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (.csv) and since the product is already available online, it has been ready to be pushed to the stage sandbox.

Might there be any other way to check if the localization file we use is formatted the right way?

Hey @DrivingGames,

So long as the CSV has the non-Romanized characters displaying properly before you import the localization, then it should be fine. But, if the UI reports there was an error and doesn’t specify what the issue is, then it’s possible that the file is in the wrong format.

Additionally, once you’ve imported the localization, you can always check the other locales through the Page Preview function in Dev Portal to see if there were any errors in the upload before pushing to Stage.
