How to set up Direct Link to Revit Connection

I’m trying to set up a direct link connection from Revit to UE4 4.27.2. I have the Datasmith plugins installed, but in Revit, when I go to the connections tab, all I see is no connection found. How do I set up UE4 to connect to Revit? I can’t seem to find any documentation, other than connecting Revit to Twinmotion. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi DMHokie !

You will find our documentation to setup Datasmith Runtime at the following doc page : Using Datasmith at Runtime | Unreal Engine 4.27 Documentation

You can also create a new project and use the Collaborative Viewer AEC template (which has an example of Datasmith Runtime UI) and follow this howto Using Datasmith Direct Link in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 4.27 Documentation

Note that Direct Link is currently Runtime only as of 4.27.

The upcoming UE5.0 release of the engine will introduce Direct Link in Editor.

Cheers !

But it is possible to use Datasmith Directlink in 4.26 Editor
why in 4.27 there is no way to do so

Direct Link in editor is a feature that is yet to be released, you must be talking about Play in Editor (which is runtime in editor instead of a packaged project).

Both 4.26 and 4.27 do not have Direct Link in Editor, only Runtime.

Cheers,
Antoine
