How to select UE engine version when starting new project?

Hi, I’m just starting to learn Unreal Engine and this is my first post here.

I have the Epic Launcher and two versions of UE installed - 5.1.1, 5.3.2.

No problems, I’m just noticing that you don’t select the version of the UE engine you want to use when starting a new project - the Unreal Engine you want to use is determined by selecting and launching a version in your library and either creating a new project or searching for a project made in an older version of the engine and converting it to the current engine you are launching.

Is this right?

(Thanks)

Hi @toygunfun, Usually when you install another version it should give you another desktop shortcut, if not you can go to that engines location and create a shortcut to that version onto your desktop.
But the Epic Games Launcher usually does like to auto launch whatever is latest downloaded. So if you don’t mind the extra 30 seconds it takes to open the EGL and then select your project directly from there which should launch it in the engine version you created it in, then you can do the first method I mentioned and ensuring you have two different desktop shortcuts to both versions.

Thanks @McMillJon, I’m on a Mac but take your point and can do this another way or just open the version of UE I want from my Spotlight (search). And as you say, I don’t mind opening the launcher at the moment as I can have a look around while I’m learning.

Thanks for your reply @McMillJon
