How to remove hard cutoff/mask from foliage?

I’ve recently come across a problem when using the foliage tool where there’s a hard cutoff on where I can put it on my static mesh. After some more testing there seems to be a sort of layer mask on it, where the foliage will just disappear after reaching a certain area on my level.

I added a new one to my level and it seems to not change anything. Is there something I’m missing?



The foliage may be painted within a level - if so, and you are in some sort of level management system like the old one used to be, you have to make the level you want to paint foliage on “active” prior to accessing the sculpt/foliage tool.

The engjne has changed a lot, so this may not be your specific issue…
