I am working on a project on 4.24 and I’ve recorded some sequences with the sequence recorder.
I need to make some adjustments on those sequences and I need to use the Reduce Key option that was available on a drop down menu in the Curve editor. (last arrow icon in the Curve tool bar)
But on the 4.24 some changes have been made to the Curve Editor and the little arrow where we used to access the Reduce Keys option is missing.
I’ve searched on the Curve Editor, but I can’t find the reduce key option anymore.
If someone knows how to access the option, I’ll be thankful.
I just wanted to clarify for anyone else who comes across this post. To reduce keys, you need to select the transform track of the actor you want to reduce keys on and apply a simply or smart reduce filter. In my case it was a car that I recorded moving alone a spline with the Take Recorder.
With the Tranform track selected in Sequencer, open the Curve Editor to see all of the transform keys.
With the keys showing in the curve editor, hit CTRL + A to select all, then Right Click and you will see a Filters Option in the menu. Select it.
A Window will open with a set of filters that you can apply. Select the Simplify option (Smart Reduce wasn’t very smart if you ask me).
You will now see options for Tolerance. The higher the number, the more keys it will remove. I set mine to 2 for example. After you apply the Simply Filter, go back to your sequencer and play your sequence again to see the changes. No need to panic if it looks bad; you can always undo the reduction and try again. I do recommend you duplicate your subsequence before running filters though just in case you can’t get it to look right and want to revert or the editor crashes while undoing.
