How to prevent foliage from baking to HLOD

Simple question. How do I prevent foliage actors from being baked into HLOD layers.

I have “Include Actor in HLOD” unchecked on my instanced foliage actors, and “Include in HLOD” disabled on my foliage type.

Yet its still being included in HLOD.

What am I doing wrong, how the hell do you get HLOD to work internally Epic? This system is broken beyond belief.

Boosting as I am still having this issue and haven’t figured out how to exclude foliage either, when I build HLODs the foliage becomes an opaque material and looks bad.
