I’ve been working in two specific widgets for awhile now (about three weeks) and sometimes when I save and shut the program down for the rest of the day and go back to it the next day one of those two widgets that I’ve been working in will corrupt. I’m aware I’m able to restore an autosave, which I do. However, since these two widgets reference each other A LOT with create widget nodes, functions across widgets and other nodes, I have to delete these nodes and replace them, which has set me back days. I’ve tried researching to see if there were any other posts asking why this happens and how to prevent it, but I can’t seem to find anything. Is it a problem on my end or is it a problem with the program that can’t be fixed? I’d greatly appreciate any help! Thanks!
Have you tried the fix redirectors option in the context menu? Here
Thank you for the reply! I was not aware of this feature. At what point do I do this? When a file has been corrupted and before I restore an autosave?
No probs, I just had similar problems in the past so now when I make this sort of change, moving, renaming, etc I right click on the folders that are affected in the project viewer and click the fix redirectors option, then save all, then save current. Not sure it will help but it’s now just a habit and I don’t seem to have rage inducing file locking and corruption issues these days. Also avoid copying between projects and make sure you always migrate into the content folder (and not higher up the project hierarchy).
Okay. I will do that from now on and hopefully it works. Thanks again!
Had problems with cloned projects not cooking for one reason or another so so I prefer Franktech’s new project->migrate existing assets as a backup approach. This seems reliable.
