Hi everyone,
I’m working on a late medieval chest and I’d like to add a parameter to change the number of reinforcements on the corners (2, 3, 4…) that are evenly spaced from the top to the bottom and from one side to another in the case of the bottom ones. The other problem is, I would like these reinforcements to adjust when the chest’s size changes (width and length), but still stay properly sized and aligned without distorting My main questions are:
- How can I parametrize the reinforcements so they stay evenly spaced, even as the chest scales in size?
- Is there a way to make the chest scalable (larger or wider) without messing up the reinforcement placement?
- I’m not very experienced with programming, so I’m wondering if this is too complicated or if I should just model different chest variations instead.
It would probably take me some time to develop this, so I’d love any advice, insights, thougths or examples on whether this approach is feasible or if I should just desist and model different chest variations instead.
This is my own model and the one I’m working with trying to figure this out. It’s just an decoration as it’s not going to be opened, but I’m trying to make as many variations as possible hence the parametrization I’m trying to achieve.
Thanks in advance!
