I just want to take a moment to stand up and applaud the absolute visionary—nay, the certified genius—of a developer or project manager who decided that Twinmotion needs to render a blank abyss at 100% GPU utilization just to handle a basic library download.
Truly, why let my graphics card rest when it could be actively trying to melt its way through my motherboard while fetching a few texture files? It’s brilliant, really. My 50 Mbps internet connection is clearly suffering from performance anxiety because it’s being outpaced by the sheer, unbridled power of my GPU doing absolutely nothing.
The foresight required to look at a progress bar and think, 'You know what this needs? The energy consumption of a small cryptocurrency mining farm is just breathtaking. Give this person a promotion and some extra brain cells, because they’re clearly playing 4D chess while the rest of us are just trying to download a bush.
P.S. For anyone else trying to save their PC from an early grave: apparently, you have to leave the Quality Settings menu wide open like a sacrificial altar just to get the GPU to shut up and be quiet while it downloads. Because of course, opening a menu is the universal code for 'please stop trying to launch my computer into orbit. (and you can’t see the download progress)
