I am working on a project in which I need to recreate an effect like this of waves rising up on a certain amount of time on body of water but really struggling to find a good solution for it. Would appreciate some help.
It really all depends on what you want to do with it, how important this feature is for whole project.
Best would be looking into code of some plugins like “oceanology”, coding your tsunami in C++, however i am not sure if water system can have that overhang top part of wave.
You can also make 3d models in something like Hudini, make it with morph targets, then add some vertex animation material.
Hard to tell, what is “Resources budget” and “work man/coffee hours budget”
