I’m trying to make a lime green sort of metal material, but making it ‘metal’ causes it to be significantly darker, even with roughness set to 1. Is there any way to offset this darkening effect?
There is probably not enough reflection information in your scene. Make sure you have placed reflection captures correctly and rebuild the lighting.
Also adding to this, you will need a lower roughness value in order to make the reflection captures show up more on the object.
See here: “roughness of 1 (rough) is competely matte or diffuse.”
To add further: In the World Settings it needs to be noted that “Environment Color” will play a factor in this as well. If it’s set to be Black it will give you a black reflection. Using a lighter color will definitely help!
