I watched a couple of cutscenes and to be fair, it looks like it is just movie. I would create the art in an external program, run it through a video editing software, add some awesome voice overs, pack the video, and follow the documentation to importing a video.
There is additional documentation on making a playlist on key press as well if you are interested. I hope this helps.
