I’ve been trying to make a game more where when an enemy spots you in the overworld, it attacks, but when the hit lands, you go into this mini arena where you can fight like a hack & slash. I want it like this so there can be an overworld where I don’t have to worry about enemy placements as much and focus on the world. If possible, I’d like it so that the player can only make an attack that starts the battle and lowers the enemy’s HP. A similar combat system is that of Honkai Star Rail but without the turn-based combat.
Yes, that is totally possible. Write the appropriate logic that when the event in question is detected, you teleport the encounter enemy/ies and the player are teleported to the arena, which you can build as a separate little box off-camera, or you can stream in a new level, and hide/unload the main world.
