Hello, I’m learning Unreal Engine. I have a question. I created a material for the terrain, applied a texture to it and made this material the main one for my terrain. As a result, my landscape looks like a lot of small squares with a small image of my texture.
Question. Can I somehow increase the size of these “squares” so that the texture looks more natural and beautiful?
This is what we call a tiling issue. Your texture gets repeated over and over again making it looks artificial and unrealistic. It’s still acceptable depending on what look you are looking for in your game.
There are tons of YouTube videos teaching you how to solve this. If you are too lazy to find it, here’s a link video from 1 minute YouTube search.
Note: This video is not mine.
Thanks for the answer. Sorry for asking a stupid question, I’m just learning, I don’t know the different terms and I didn’t know how to google it correctly to find the answer to my question. I thought this is what the forum is for.
Depends on the context. If you have done your research, and you can’t really find the answer that you are looking for, then you are more than welcome to create a topic in this forum. Others include discussion of a topic as well as showcasing your work and tutorial.
The Mods are helpful and friendly too. So, yeah it’s not a toxic platform to learn.
