How to improve Texture Quality ?

I really like RC and I think that with small tweaking it could be the best!
Please help to improve the texture Please.
Here is a small comparison of Texture between RC High Settings to another software X in Normal mode:
RC High Settings - for the same area 1.6M Faces
X Normal Settings - 382k Faces

Hi Gal Davidson
Please click on the MODEL so that I can see your UNWRAP parameters used for it

As you requested:

On another project, I increased the textures count to 16 as you recommended in some other post.
I exported it and the result was with 6 UVs - when I open it the material is black - no texture, the MTL file direct only to the first UV(jpg).
If it’s a bug and not something wrong that I did then I’ll open a bug.
Waiting for your reply for the both questions,
Gal

Hi Gal Davidson
change the DETECTOR SENSITIVITY from HIGH to MEDIUM ( or even LOW ) and change the max reprojection error from 3 pix to 2pix, align and then reconstruct it again.

Is it possible to see all cameras in the scene ? Do they have proper overlap and so on ?

Regarding the textures, use the UNWRAP tool and set the FIXED TEXEL value and use the OPTIMAL TEXEL ( it is all in the UNWRAP tool ) and then you need to CALCULATE the actual textures, as you probably calculated just the UVs but not the textures…

here is the pictures overlap - it was free flight mode, so I focused on what was important for me.

I’ll run again with the settings you recommended.
Do you have any written process for the Unwrap tool so it will be easier for me to understand ?

When you click on the Unwrap button in the Reconstruction tab, a short description of the tool will appear immediately in the Help window of the software.

Hi Gal Davidson

Can you send me the RCPROJ files and images for inspection ?

Running again with the low sensitive feature… Tomorrow morning I’ll have the results. (running on high without any downscale).
I’ll send the link to your email.
Thank you for the support.

It didnt help at all.
I sent you a link with the pictures and a zip file that have RCPROj files…
please update me regarding your findings.

I try to follow your post but there are many i don’t understand.
can you tell by doing screenshot :

  • how increase the textures count to 16?
  • “I exported it and the result was with 6 UVs” what is UV?
  • how to change the DETECTOR SENSITIVITY?
  • how change the max reprojection error?
  • Screenshot of this “UNWRAP tool and set the FIXED TEXEL value and use the OPTIMAL TEXEL”
  • how to CALCULATE the actual textures?
