How to import multiple archicad models in twinmotion

Does anybody knows how to import more than 1 archicad model in Twinmotion?

next question: what happens if they have a different 0m level?

Thanks for the help!

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community your questions regarding multiple file import into Twinmotion.

You have several options to import many files into Twinmotion, the first one is to import udatasmith files using the Datasmith Exporter Plugin, you can save different files for different models or elements within that project such as a site file, building 1 file, building 2 file, and components or elements such as trees, or furniture.

The second options is to use Direct-Link with the Datasmith Exporter Plugin but each individual PLN can only have one direct-link to the same Twinmotion file. You can use the direct-link for the primary elements such as the building or parts that need the most updating and use udatasmith files for the other elements. You can use direct-link for the entire model as well.

The size of the project also matters depending on what you are doing when considering how to import the content (direct-link vs udatasmith) and what collapse method. You also have to coordinate the placement based on the user origin of Archicad so you may need to create a master file to export your 3D views from so that the placement in Twinmotion comes in automatically. The height placement is based on the Project Zero and where the building.
