How to import a point cloud, it doesn't work at all when im trying to import a .ply as geometry it seems to load but won't show up in the scene.

I have both .ply and .e57 files available. Although only the .ply is clickable when importing (geometry only). When I try to use the import > point cloud option both file types are not available to import.

I looked up online and read that people were able to import point clouds as .e57 files? However I am not able to do so.
