How to help a friend

Hello guys and girls,

I hope that you’re all fine. I’m here because I want to share something grossly unfair which made my friend desperate. Also, if you have any idea how I could comfort or help him, do hit me up in the comments.

So what’s going on? Well, my friend came to a very nice idea to start his own business. I know that the field of his business is highly disputable and that many people would be against it, but I personally found it quite nice. Namely, he wanted to start an online casino business. I know, I also thought he was kidding me at first, but the guy was dead serious and eagerly looking forward to it.

He hired all the professionals he needed — developers, animators, sound masters, etc., filed all the necessary documents and applications. We were reading a bunch of articles like this removed link to ensure that everything is in accordance with the regulations. And it was, I’m positive. He’s not the kind of guy who would make a fool of himself and mess up with such things. We believed it was a matter of days when his casino would be published on the market.

Then all of a sudden, a cold shower — his application was denied. There was no plausible explanation, or at least we couldn’t get it, just a big no. I’m angry and disappointed, so can you imagine how my friend who was really excited about this is feeling?

Thus, if you know what he could do, how to appeal or anything of the sort, please let me know in the comments. If it dawns on you how I could make him feel better, do tell me. It would mean the world to both of us. Thanks in advance!

I can only advice you on the personal aspect.
If it was me, I wouldn’t exactly comfort him. Instead, it would be something like this:
“Look man, you have done all of this work and had all of that other work done. Your product is ready to hit the market and now you’ve been gutted and feel horrible. Somewhere along the way, you messed up the application process and this no might ruin the entire thing. However, everything you have learned and everything that has been done, can be re-implemented much faster than the last time. If others have gotten a yes in the past, it means that a yes is indeed possible. How long it will take to turn than no into a yes or how to do it remains unseen. What needs to happen now, is to apply some negotiations tactics to get a proper explanation of the no. If everything else fails, you might even have to incorporate overseas. There are ways out there and it will take the time, effort and energy required to get it done. One day, you will look back and realise this current situation was no big deal in comparison to your future success.
In the meantime, pull yourself together and use this experience to fuel you with even more passion, even more determination and even more resilience. Your time will come, just not as soon as you had hoped for. Hopes, wishes and expectations are for hopeless romantics. Determination, patience and resilience are for entrepreneurs. Focus, hard work and the ability to get back up again faster than most, are for the successful. Now choose your pick before the year is over and shake this off like it’s nothing. 2022 begins tomorrow, so you might as well be a step ahead and decide on victory today.”

As for negotiations, go and study Chris Voss. They got a YouTube channel, a book, website, and other arenas for pretty much 100% free advice. Voss “spent 24 years working in the FBI Crisis Negotiation Unit and was the FBI’s chief international hostage and kidnapping negotiator from 2003 to 2007.” - Wikipedia. His skills HAD TO work against the worst humans on the planet, or death would occur. One of his achievements was for an American tourist held hostage on a 10 million USD ransom. They got the price down to zero and the tourist, who was, unbeknownst to the negotiations team at the time, scheduled for execution after payment, ended up walking free.
Those skills should definitely work on some applications officer. If everything else fails in your country, there are other nations open for online money making businesses.

This will succeed, just not as fast as desired.

good luck i hoope you can help
