How to have a non-physics aircraft or spaceship explode into the ground on impact?

I have an aircraft that has physics set off. The collision overlap is set to “block all” and I have an “on event hit” that, when triggered, destroys the aircraft.

However, the aircraft just goes through the ground and never collides with the environment. Am I missing something?

But OP specifically needs non-physics hits. There’s something dodgy with collision settings or the way stuff is moved, no Sweep during movement.

You probably have to enable “Simulation Generates Hit Events” on the collision overlap and also on the ground mesh or landscape. I’m not sure if both need that to be enabled but at least the collision overlap of your aircraft. Can’t test it right now…
