How to handle weapon bones when using Mixamo animations?

Hi everyone,

I’m using a character that has extra bones for a weapon (attached to the hand), but I’m retargeting animations from Mixamo (which only has standard body bones).

When I apply the Mixamo animation, the weapon bone doesn’t move or stay in place correctly. How can I “smooth out” the transition or edit the animation so the weapon bone follows the hand properly in UE? Any tips on IK or post-process blueprints?
