How to handle Directional Lights in World Partition Tool?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on an open world with the World Partition Tool, but the problem is that I’d like different lighting for each zone. For example, night lighting for one area, then pink day lighting for another, etc…

The problem is that when I want to change the lighting in the World Partition Tool, everything is greyed out.

ChatGPT recommends that I create layers in the WPT and tune the lighting, which I activate and deactivate using a volume trigger that extends across the entire level.

The solution seems charming, but then I have to remove the level lighting and leave only the WPT lighting.

The problem is that when I edit the level in isolation, I no longer have any lighting and ChanGPT tells me to add one. I’m not going to do that every time, am I?

So I tell him, hey, I’m not going to add a spotlight every time I change a beam in my level! She says, no, we’re going to make a blueprint of Zeus’ earth with directional lighting that’s only activated in editor mode.

Delighted to have found the solution, I realise that the World Partition Tool is also in editor mode and that in the end it wouldn’t make much difference. I’ll have too many lights when I’m in my WPT.

How would you solve the problem? It sounds like a pretty simple request…
