Because this thread is the one, that google gives now (despite it is so old), i’ll try to give an answer. Spotlight will give poor lighting and not correct, better result will be, if you will add emissive colour to your glass material, values from 0 (minimum) to 1 (maximum glow). Another way is to create and place plane behind window (with translucent material and emissive colour).
