How to get a persistent fullscreen secondary viewport on a second monitor

Hi,

we plan to use Unreal Editor for some Local Online work. Local meaning there will not be any multi-device network setup and Online meaning the work will be done in realtime in front of the client.

I’ve started to look into the virtual production and nDisplay guides, but they seem to have overly complicated preparation, setup and usage in the context of what we need.

We are looking for a way to have just a single, fullscreen realtime viewport on the second monitor and the UE Editor user interface on the first one. The operator will then be interacting with the UI on the first monitor while client would be watching the result on the second one, where the fullscreen viewport is.

The first obvious idea was simply opening a new editor window (there can be up to 4 of them) and maximizing it on the second monitor. The problem here is that all viewport always temporarily disappear as long as you are looking on a maximized tab docked in the primary UE Editor window. So this is not really feasible.

My question is:
Is there any simplified nDisplay setup which would work like this? No overcomplicated configuration file setups, cluster setups, switchboard windows, etc… Just a simple camera in the level which would output a realtime feed to the second monitor, but would never ever close, unlike the regular Editor viewport window.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
have you found a solution for that? I am looking for the same thing.
Thanks!

I too am looking for the exact same setup. I wish there was a tutorial to describe how to do this.
