Does anyone has some tips on how to fake a sonogram?
It doesn’t need to be 100% accurate but should respond (grow/shrink and change colour) to a users movement (which will be tracked). Anyway, here’s an example of such an image.
I was thinking about using post process for the grain and the monochrome low-res look but not sure how to “animate” these black/white shapes (layers) that respond to the users’ movement (so may grow and shrink a bit and their colour will vary between white and grey-ish). One idea was to work with some kind of parallax, several 2D layers on top of eachother, but I don’t know how to do that (let alone having them also change in size and colour).
I’ll look into it but as far as I can see, there may be several issues with it.
It doesn’t seem to have a moving sonogram animation (rather static and perhaps not exactly how it looks IRL) and we would not be actually using such a detailed, scanned body part but just a simple mesh with a skin material so we would need to create (fake) the sonogram separately from the actual mesh. The sonogram does need to respond depending on the position of the echodevice on the scan though.
Therefore, I’m aiming more towards specific PP/materials/particles/mesh deform etc to come up with such an sonogram animation although an actual plugin that does the trick would be great. As mentioned, I’ll look into more detail whether we could use the plugin (or some parts of it).
