how to expand collapsed nodes in reference viewer?

If you mean the reference tree you get from right clicking on an asset in the reference viewer, then it’s on the view menu.
Doubleclick: nothing happens.
RMB: Only these options active: “zoom to fit”, " re-center graph" и “make collection with”.

I was not able to find the “make this number bigger” option. Instead, I found that you can expand the results via “Search Breadth Limit” slider.

There was probably an image in the post that says “Make this number bigger” that didn’t get transferred over when Epic migrated the old forums to the new one.

Alternatively, you can just uncheck the Search Breadth Limit and it won’t collapse anything.
