Hello everyone, I would like to ask how to increase the dispersion intensity of semi-transparent objects in the “Path Tracing” mode.
Currently, I’m working on a gemstone-like object. When the gemstone material has low transparency, the path tracing will exhibit a relatively good dispersion effect. However, when I adjusted the roughness and transparency of the gemstone to the effect I desired, its dispersion became too weak.
I tried shining a strong light on the gemstone to obtain a stronger dispersion effect, but the light from the lamp would exceed the range of the gemstone’s shadow area, and it was difficult to align the dispersion area with the shadow area produced by parallel light.
Could there be a way to enhance the dispersion without modifying the gemstone’s material? Or is there a method to extract the shadow area of the gemstone and add a lighting function to simulate the dispersion effect?
thanks.
