I’ve just been learning about take recorder and how to record a mocap scene. I just wanted to know how to go about doing something specific. Say my character is doing a 5 punch combination and I want punch 2 and 5 to have it sped up a little bit to emphasize the speed of those punches. How would I go about editing those two punches to go faster and keep the other punches the same speed?
Let’ say you want to modulate one punch only, you can use Sequencer, insert the animation and copy the same animation 2 times, so let’s call them clip1, clip2 and clip3
You then need decide which frame is the start of the punch animation, which will be the end of clip1 and the start of clip2.
You then decide which frame is the end of the punch animation, which will be the end of clip2 and the start of clip3.
You then modify clip2 properties in order to change its speed, which will shorten the clip length, so then you’ll need to move clip3 to match with the end of clip2.
You’ll probably need to add some ease in/out just to have a more natural transition between the animations, but overall that’s it.
Just watch some YouTube tutorials regarding animation in sequencer, then check all the various options within sequencer and you’ll find what you’re looking for there.
