How to draw a 3D Minimap in VR over another 3D object?

I have created a minimap for VR template. However whenever it collides with another 3D object it goes into that object. I wish to keep it’s position on the top left only.
I have attached a few images explaining this. Hope you understand the problem. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

Assuming the mini map is attached to the vr camera, move it alot closer in, and make it smaller. That’s about the best you can do that I am aware of.

I thought of it as the last option. I’m looking for an alternative.

As an alternative add the 3d widget to the back of the controller or hand that you are using so players can hold it up to view it.

You can also try using the green-screen rendertarget method to render 3D objects as a 2D texture on your Ui layer which always appears in front of 3D camera view
