How to disable autokeying in sequencer 4.18?

sequencer problem

You should be able to disable it by toggling the autokey button.

Hey, Max, Unreal (in 5.3) will automatically add actors and keys to the sequencer, but not always.

This is VERY annoying, because you may not realize that adjustments are being recorded.

Again, what’s worse is that this behavior is not predictable. Sometimes the actor is added, sometimes it’s not.

I find I have to completely close the Sequencer if I’m not actively animating in it.

Hello Leo, I figured it out! In 5.4, when you hold Shift or ctrl and click on something, it automatically adds it to “Autotracked Changes.” To fix this, just click on the pencil tool and set it to “Allow All Edits.”

Good to hear from you, Doug!

For me the Pencil Tool already is set that way. However, upon tinkering, I realized that the “S” key is mapped to be both a navigational key, as well as an input key for the Level Sequencer. This means that if I try to move the camera/view down, I could unwittingly be adding a key.

So, I changed the Key quickbind to something else, and now I’m no longer having this issue.

…for now.
