Hello friends, I have this scene where there is a group of plants directly imported from 3dsMax (forest pack) to Unreal.
I’m trying to select one of the instances (marked in red) to delete it, but I can’t because all the plants form a block. I would also like to be able to select any plant in the viewport and move it.
Is it possible to do any of these things? I have no option to detach.
Thank you.
You should be able to open the actor from the content browser and simply remove the mesh from there.
The problem is that I can’t select the actor in the content browser. This actor only contains all the positions of all the trees I’m using because it’s an element created in 3dsMax with the Forest Pack and imported with Datasmith.
I would like to be able to move some trees, but this is not possible because when I select one, they are all selected as you can see in the image.
I can also delete a particular tree model from the content browser, but this would cause all its instances to be deleted.
Which version of UE are you on?
Are they instanced static mesh or hierarchical instanced static meshes
I partially managed to select independent instances in 5.1 but it broke at some point
the selection seemed a lot more stable in 5.2.
Else, a cumbersome way, you have to go into the instance static mesh details and go for the instance array and move them/remove them there.
