How to create the maps used in Hair Content Examples Shader ?

I’m stuck on this one, it seems the hair shader in the content examples uses very specific maps to render the hair.

I’m wondering how to create these maps, I believe this is the info from the paragon video.

  1. unique id: random variant of strand
  2. root/alpha: gradient
  3. depth: displacement ?

How would I go about creating these maps ? I tried figuring out how to use this via maya hair and ornatrix but can’t figure out how to get a nice grayscale version of these maps, which the shader seems to like (grayscale hair alphas)
