You select one, you copy one. Control-select parent and child to copy both.
My understanding is that it should be copied together with the child levels. If there are many levels, it is very troublesome to select the child levels every time you copy.
They should not, why? What if I wanted to copy 1 item? You select 1, you copy 1.
Shift / Ctrl Select what you need, right click → Group. Once you’ve done it, a single click selects the bunch:
Well, although the problem has been solved, I have to say that the operation logic is a bit counterintuitive.
Imagine you wanted to edit the properties of aObstacle2

You click to Select it, but no, you’ve now selected 3 additional elements since they’re attached. Imagine you did not notice that and now have accidentally edited every element in the hierarchy. Or deleted them.
Admittedly, I would not mind having an Alt+Click
