Hi everyone,
So I have this landscape material instance that comes from a pack, and it has a lot of blend layers in it. I use it all the time when creating landscapes, and it works great for painting the landscape. But now I got a mesh that I really like, and I want to use my landscape material on it.
The problem is, I can’t. When I try to apply that landscape material to the mesh, it doesn’t work at all. I thought maybe I could somehow convert the landscape material into a regular material, but it’s full of landscape-specific nodes, and I don’t really know how to tweak it.
Then I thought, what if I could just turn the mesh itself into a landscape? That way I could paint on it with my landscape material like usual. I found one method online that uses Blender to export a heightmap from the mesh and then import it back into Unreal as a new landscape. I may try that, but I wanna if there’s any direct way to do this inside Unreal, without having to go through Blender or another 3D tool.
