How to bind my own groom to metahuman character

I was trying to attach a groom that I made in maya (xgen), in the past I have always parented to the head bone and worked just fine but with metahumans the structure seems to be a little different, there is a socket where you attach some kind of script where you define the groom and the skeletal mesh, when I double clicked (see the image below) the slot seems to be disabled or private and I cant add my own groom, my main issue is that when I use livelink the hair doesnt move while the rest of the head does, I dont know how to set the binding, hope anyone can give me any insight
