Hi all,
I’m setting up a rig to get decent quality scans of furniture. All is good except the orientation (ground plane) and real world scale needs manual user input. How can I automate these steps, both while shooting and processing the images.
Thanks,
Misho
Hello misha,
you can find the tutorial on how to re-use the calculated camera positions among several scans in the application Help - Re-use Alignment.
In the section Full-body Scans and coordinate System Preservation you can find the step-by-step video tutorials (also on our YouTube channel) on how to preserve coordinate system of your scans for a completely stable camera setup or bending camera setup as well.
Hi Zuzana,
I can’t re-use calculated cameras, as this will be a hand held rig. Can I use the 12-bit Markers for this?
thanks,
Misho
Yes, in such case you can place coded markers and use them for scaling. Please note that you cannot use automatic detection of coded markers in the Promo version.
Just make sure that your markers are on the same horizontal plane (use a bubble level to be sure of that )
Then you can define ground control points with precise coordinates, so the ground will always be consistent.
@zuzana
Can I use the PGM version or I need the CLI version for that?
@mischa: you do not need a CLI license for that
