Hi, I wanted to ask if it’s possible to implement a way for the translation files, which are normally inside the .pak file, to be read from the game’s root folder. I know this was done this way in the past, before everything had to be compressed into a single file to save space.
In Star Citizen something similar to what I’m asking was done.

Many developers take years to translate, and fans abandon those games. Fans can do the translations themselves, provided they’re given the necessary tools.
When I have unpacked games, the language files, usually .locres, are similar except for the translation texts, the engine codes remain the same in both files.
