I am working on a maze game and have reached a stage, where i need to make “a door opening” animation.
In this case, I want the door to slide downwards. But instead of doing that the player character camera moves forward. I don’t know what the issue is.
Any response is greatly appreciated and further details will also be provided.
How are you trying to slide the door downwards? Blueprints? If so, here’s how I animate doors. This is from a door that rotates on a pivot to open and close:

Here’s the image of my timeline (in the above image, it’s called “DoorOpen”
The timeline is just a one-second timeline that goes from 0 to 1 in that 1 second. It’s funneled out into the lerp, moving from A to B in the lerp rotator.

You gotta click fast. You have around, 1.2s before it logs you out…
Is that true? I’d believe it because that’s what it felt like, but I don’t understand how that’s a good idea.
It’s somewhere between 0.1s and a couple of minutes. It’s been like that for some months now. And no, it’s not great 
Oh! I see - it’s a glitch. Sorry, I haven’t been back here in years! I thought I was just missing some kind of security issue. Thanks for taking the time to get me up to date!
Perhaps show us how you’re doing the door animation atm and we’ll try to poke holes in the method.
The script brianheagney posted is good, if you want sliding door use location, not rotation instead.
If you keep restarting without learning the fundamentals, you’ll keep running into the very same issue all over again.
Hello, Thank you for your response. I appreciate it a lot. Unfortunately its not fixing the issue . Could you please recommend me some options on how to get started with Unreal Engine. Every time I try creating a beginner game from a series on youtube, it doesn’t work out and this is the 3rd time it is happening to me.
