How to animate 3D FBX models?

Topic.

I have some 3D models created in Meshy of cartoon Mice dressed as Superheroes/Heroines, I’d like to use them in an original Superhero Mouse themed platformer in UE5, but I’m a total noob.

Also, as a related question, how do I create useable, parallax scrolling backgrounds for the game?

Export them from Meshy as FBX, import into UE5, and make sure they’re rigged so you can use animations. Easiest move is to start with the side scroller and just swap your mouse character in that way you’re not building everything from scratch.

Big help that.

I have some rigged models of Mice as various Disney Princess walking, how do I get them doing other animations such as jumping and landing on killable baddies ala Super Mario in a side scrolling platform game?

You’re already set if the rigs work just create key animations like jump start, mid air, landing, and stomp for enemies. These get connected through an animation state machine so everything transitions smoothly in gameplay. if you have more question so add me on discord i’m not really active here so If you want help setting it up properly or more question i am available: thevornyx
