How To "Activate" Viewport Without Loosing Selection?

If I want to use a viewport command like ‘G’ (to toggle showing game mode) then at first it appears it’s not working, but then I realized it’s because the viewport needs to be “active” for commands like these to work. So if I’ve just been tweaking settings in the World Settings, then UE’s focus is on that window rather than the viewport section.

This is common in many programs, but in many programs I can then right click on the viewport to regain viewport focus. Then proceed with doing my keyboard shortcuts again, but in UE4 I can’t reactivate my viewport without clicking on something.

Whether I left, middle or right mouse click on the viewport, UE will lose my selection and select whatever object I’m clicking on. THE only solution I’ve found if I don’t want to lose my selection is to nudge the camera (Right mouse hold down, wiggle mouse, then release), but often times I don’t want to change my camera.

Is there another way?

Bumping this since I was about to post the same question. Is there a way to change viewports without loosing the selection?
