we are currently using a cli command to start reality capture on virtual machines.
Therefore we use the “-activate ” command argument and take the actual token from the my.licenses - Sign in - Capturing Reality.
Is it possible to authenticate via an api key or something similar with the new pricing/seat model too ?
If yes, where would I get the token from ?
If not, are there any alternatives besides logging in the UI manually?
Hello Tobias,
it is not possible to do it like that.
You can use -headless + -silent commands to achieve this. Also, -disableOnlineCommunication will do the job.
Hi Otrhan,
Can you please confirm/clarify the new licensing model and how is it connected with the cli usage.
Our old approach was:
buy license
make it floating
use the key in cli -activate
How should we do it right now with the seats saas model? We’ve bought 2 more licenses but what should we do with them?
Will the RC installed via epic games (instead of the old exe) be automatically activated so we don’t need to call -activate via cli?
How RC run with -headless -silent -disableOnlineCommunication understand which seat is it licensed with?
Hi Tobias,
this functionality was changed since 1.4 version. To get more information about seats and their usage in this case please contact our sales department.
If you use Epic Games Launcher, then you will be logged automatically using that account.
