When Epic had the Marketplace, there was a function whereby Users/Purchasers could give a Rating and or Feedback to a Product. That is missing completely on FAB, or hidden from my Dashboard as a seller. There is a massive void between showing my listings (with all of its unnecessary tabs) and a non-sticky (I have to constantly enter the date range) list of sales, with nothing in between
There is no feedback regarding stats for pageviews, click throughs or user browsing, all we have is sales. Sellers are simply Blind.
Epic lags behind in these sellers features, despite stating they are available, mainly due to simply porting old Epic Marketplace text without making legal references of Sales/Licenses that relate to Other Formats sold on FAB, making those functions available.
These lack of features are essential for any seller, and are available on all other market places like Unity AssetStore. Both as a Seller and a Buyer.
I dont think they care much about sellers. With the useless star rating, we sellers need to eat unfair 1 star rating like spam/off-topic/bot etc…
I hope they get it working:
We had a report button before with ue marketplace and with text reviews, we got make an argument why that particular review is unfair.
Look what google map reviews report has:
About the seller portal, these were just released like 1-2 month ago where most of its features were just placeholders and no code behind.
Even today, the filter month for jaunary 2025 still doesnt work:
Not a single item on the roadmap so far has been mark as Done.
They could have copy paste the same code api for text reviews and search algorithm from old ue marketplace but they decided to re-invent the wheel again.
An improved ratings and reviews system is on our roadmap.
We’re looking into how more analytics / stats such as views, downloads, click-throughs, etc. could influence and improve search results, as well as be surfaced in seller dashboards at some point, but there’s nothing specific on the roadmap yet.
This is good feedback for when we implement the more robust review system, thanks.
In my opinion, releasing Megascans for free to anyone with an account, is 100% focused on Scene developers/Game creators. This has all but collapsed the Asset Creators marketplace. Our studios monthly sales have dropped by more than 75% after this move.
I mean, why would a game developer bother paying for computer generated props/assets, when it can simply download meshes full of real life scenes, and use nanite to mitigate their overheads… THAT is the roadmap.
Try using the Middle Tab ‘Monthly Reports’ that too is broken, according to it, our studio made more money in November 2024 (the only month available) than we have in all the sales for 2024…
