How problematic can root motion be for my replicated AI and/or Player?

Im making a 3D top down twin stick zombie wave co-op shooter. I’ve heard that non-rootmotion is more precise and consistent when replicating location and rotation for multiplayer. And of course consistency matters in my game (doesn’t it in most?), but foot sliding kinda makes me crazy as well. So my question is this, how problematic do you think root motion can be in my game? So far I’ve tried to play in the editor with one root motion ai zombie and two non-rootmotion client side players, haven’t actually seen any problems yet. Though i am planing to have quite a bit of zombies on each map simultaneously.
