Thanks, I don’t really understand the royalty fee function.
Hey there!
You owe Epic royalties on anything over $3000. So that would be $3450. Subtract $3000 from your total earnings and multiply that by .05.
Royalty is calculated per quarter. So every 3 months subtract $3000 from your earning and 5% on the remaining amount is royalty.
So if you made $72,000 within 3 months of launching your game, the royalty would be exactly as SEJonF showed above. If in the next 3 months if you make another $10,000 the next royalty would be ((10000 - 3000) * 0.05) = 350
If your income does not exceed $3000 in a quarter calendar period (3 months) there is no royalty.
Also remember that the 5% is on gross not net. So if you were paid $72,000 but sold entirely on steam (or most other app stores) then you most likely actually had a revenue of $93,600 due to the 30% charge most app stores take. This means you need to take 93,600 - 3000 = 90600 * .05 = $4,530.
However as stated it depends if you made it all in one quarter or not. You might want to contact the sales office, they can help you and might also offer you a better deal.
Braggart.
Congrats to your success!
