How long should my HLODS take to build??

I have built HLODS in the past on this same map, usually averaging around 35-60 minutes. Since then I was having trouble with my client connecting to the servers, to where i couldn’t even test my game.

Asked around and gathered that building your HLOD layers after this most recent update would help… but here I am waiting longer than I have before, at 4 hours and 45 minutes.

Should I stop the building process, or just let it load? It’s sitting at 100% but nothing else is happening

My map is pretty large so I assumed it would take a while, but almost 5 hours is a little extreme?

Just wondering if anyone can help me out here🙌

Hello, I have the same problem on the 5.5 the HLOD for the landscape is not built it turns without anything happening. I tested on the 5.4.4 with a basic landscape at 505 I just applied a noise on it, I did the same result
on 5.4 ~2mn for build HLOD
on the 5.5 I stopped it after an hour it was still not build.

I tested with different settings on both versions, always the same result, everything works on 5.4.4 but not on version 5.5

edit: I just recreated two projects, a 5.5 and a 5.4, on the same hard drive (ssd, nvme) with these settings:

and both built the HLODS in 1 minute. So I don’t understand what can cause this kind of thing, maybe the transition from a 5.4 project to 5.5

It doesn’t matter if you upgrade the project to 5.5, the same issue occurs.

That’s what I thought, I still did other tests including a 130 km x 130 km landscape it’s really very long to calculate but it works lol!! With an update of the project from 5.4 to 5.5 nothing works good, I haven’t tested the famous 130 km :thinking: I’m not crazy enough

I don’t know what’s going on, it should work but I can’t find where the problem is coming from. For me it doesn’t even finish building, removing the meshes and taking too much time.
