How - if it is possible - can I upload higher res photos for texturing?

Okay so first of all, I personally don’t use this software, my dad does, but he doesn’t know English well, so he asked me to solve his problem, so I may be asking a very basic question.

So, he scanned something, but later found out that the textures aren’t high resolution enough. He can go back and take closer shots, but the question is that is it possible somehow (and if it is, how) that he tells the software that hey there are new photos, use them to improve the texture quality?

Hi, 

yes he definitely can do this, but he will need to mesh again because the new photos will need to be aligned, and then he will have to work from the new component with these photos in it.

then he needs to select all of the other inputs (apart from the close up pics) and disable them for texturing.
