How do you Turn Off Real Time Rendering in 5.6?

I have just installed 5.6 on a second machine running Windows, because 5.6 does not run on Linux. Yet. Or so it seems.

However, the secondary machine is about half as powerful as my Linux machine, it’s an 8-core Ryzen 2900X with a RTX 3070. It’s able to run my project although it’s heavy for it.

However, I can’t find where to turn off real time rendering. According to google AI it should be in the top left hand corner but there is absolutely nothing there. I’ve looked everywhere. Running the command line code for turning off realtime rendering has no effect. I can still see real time effects running and my poor computer is running at top speed, fans akimbo.

WHERE is the option to turn off real time rendering…? I PROMISE I have looked as thoroughly as possible. I think I should see “real time rendering off” in yellow in the top left hand corner of the screen.

Did you try CTRL+R ( after selecting the viewport )?

( I don’t have 5.6 yet btw to test this theory )

Thanks for your reply. No I haven’t tried that, thanks for the suggestion. I tried everything else I could think of - escape, command line, etc…
