I have created a sprite, and a normal map, and its animations etc…
How do I go and put all of those details together so that the sprite reacts to point lighting etc?
For some reason I cannot find the global lighting setting for the sprite, it always seems to be fully lit?
----------EDIT----------
I figured it out yooo…
- You create a material
- You edit that materials graph and drag your normal and sprite textures into the graph from the left panel.
- You then plug the sprite texture into the base colour and the normal texture into the normal
- You will also need to plug the sprite texture into the opacity (otherwise it won’t show transparent areas correctly
There is an issue whereby the normal does not show up on the game, however… lighting does shine across the sprite now… Any ideas why the normal isn’t showing through on the game but it is showing through on the material viewer. My character is definitely using the correct material.
Few extra tips:
Use this software to create normal, oh boy is it damnnnn good: Quixel | 3D world-building made easy
It works in unison with Photoshop CC
