If you’ve played antichamber then you’ll know the kind of thing I’m going for, I want a sort of “impossible doorway” that has nothing behind it, just free standing in the middle of the room, but when you open it and look through it you can see a completely different room that you can then walk into through the door. I know how to set up a teleporter that’s (mostly) seamless but I’m not sure how to set up this visual trick… I wouldn’t even know where to start and google has yielded nothing so far.
Hi Louthinator.
I’m reminded of this marketplace asset.
If you’re not trying to spend any money, try adding the term “non euclidean” to your search queries.
not quite what I’m looking for…
I assume you want something like
doorway exists
you see one world around it
another world through it
lets you view into that other room at dif angles as you move the player (camera) around
So why not set up dif world partition data layers… have one ‘world’ in layer 1… then the other room in layer 2. obv put them at the same height…
then you can set up a secondary camera that follows the players angle/distance from the doorway and stream in the video feed from the other data layer… then as player gets to doorway itself, do a blended unload/load of data layers so that the other data layer is loaded… so they will walk into that other room, and see original world back through the door…
i think it also requires line traces to know which side of door you are on… etc
