How do you copy and paste text in the editor text fields

I feel like Im going crazy.
Every program and website I have ever used has had the ability to copy (CTRL + C) and paste (CTRL + V) text into text fields.

For some reason this can’t be done in Unreal and I found no mentions of this online???
Is no one else bothered by the lack of such a normal everyday function or is there a setting in Unreal that everyone else just knows to turn on to enable copy paste?

Im trying to copy an objects transform location cordinates one by one but when I go to paste into another objects transform fields nothing happens. I tried this with a animation sequences location fields too and paste didn’t work there either.

The copy is working since I can then paste the transform fields value to other programs such as notepad but when I paint the transform field and press CTRL + V nothing happens.

Shift + Right Click to Copy
Shift + Left Click to Paste

OR

Right Click → Copy
Right Click → Paste

Works with almost all types of fields

Oh wow that is a pretty useful shortcut thanks.

But what I was trying to do is copy and paste one field at a time.

For example I want to get just the X cord of something and not override the others.

This doesn’t seem to work for that use.

Right-click in any of the fields - or in the main section of the field to copy all - there’s options for copy/paste in there.

That is unfortunately what Im trying to do but it doesn’t work

I recorded a video but apparently new users aren’t allowed to upload attachements.

from these positions?

Sorry but this seems to copy the whole transform like the first answer showed.

I was trying to copy a single text field such as the red X coordinates to not overwrite the existing values like Z and Y.

yes, the lower part of the snapshot - the arrow head is where you right-click to get that option - is that copying the entire vector for you?

Yes I right clicked over the X cord where your lower arrows pointer is at and it does the same thing as right clicking on the left side on the empty space where your upper arrow is pointing.

if I don’t left click to activate the text field and paint the text the whole vector gets copied.

You’re right (sorry, should have checked first) - I think you’ll have to select it first (I had thought right-clicking selected like it does in windows)
